First Glimpse into the New Series - First look at *Young Sherlock* reveals a teenage Holmes in 1870s Oxford

Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the first images from Young Sherlock, a new series following the early days of the legendary detective. The show stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes, investigating his first murder case in 1870s Oxford. Filming took place in India, with the series set to premiere in 2026 on Amazon Prime Video worldwide.

The eight-episode series is based on Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes book collection. It explores Holmes’ origins as he uncovers a deadly conspiracy while studying at Oxford. Guy Ritchie, known for his 2009 Sherlock Holmes films, directs and serves as an executive producer.

The series marks Ritchie’s return to the Sherlock Holmes universe after more than a decade. With a star-studded cast and a fresh take on the detective’s early years, Young Sherlock is scheduled for a 2026 debut. Viewers worldwide will stream the show on Amazon Prime Video upon release.
