Step into Dresden's renovated gem

Dresden - If you're fond of opulence and history, the Taschenbergpalais, once Dresden's grandest living room, is back with a modern twist. After a year-long refurbishment, the Kempinski Hotel is now open for bookings, starting February.

Heads of state, queens, and celebrities have graced this 18th-century palace, built for the powerful King Augustus the Strong's mistress, Countess Cosel. Though the hotel had served guests for 27 years, a facelift was in order, with fresh plumbing, new textile floors, and energy-efficient solar panels.

Modern yet traditional rooms with a hint of sophistication
A taste of the lavish dining experience

The revamped hotel boasts 180 rooms and 31 suites, each bearing a unique blend of classic elegance and modern aesthetics. Ambitious designer Markus Hilzinger cut his teeth on local landmarks like the Dresden Zwinger and the Residenzschloss, channelling Saxon heritage while ensuring the Kempinski maintains top-notch luxury.

A tastefully designed bathroom fit for royalty

Meticulously designed lighting and ambient fixtures add charm, aiding an inviting, welcoming atmosphere.

A night's stay on February 16 – 17 starts at 333 euros on booking.com. The hotel is also offering a 15% discount on the daily room rate and a 50 euro credit for food, drinks, or spa treatments.

Comfortable and plush furnishings

Advent dreams come to life a month earlier than usual for Dresdeners. From November 28, the hotel will host a charismatic Christmas market in the heart of the city, serving delicious treats and ice-cold champagne in the cozy Taschenberg Christmas Lounge.
