Cruising in Style with the BM50 SE Powercat from Bering Marine
First glance at Bering BM50 SE: At 50 feet, this multihull marks Bering's largest creation to date
The Bering BM50 SE is ready to take the crown as the largest multihull from Bering Marine, packing a whopping 50ft length and a wide 17ft beam that's perfect for water sports and fishing adventures. Given Bering Group's acquisition of Hysucat back in 2017, this isn't exactly a surprise.[1]
This monster multihull is a hydrofoil-assisted powercat, and the company projects it to be the largest they'll build, overshadowing their previous models like the BM34 and fibreglass flagship by a significant margin. Aiming to blend the increased space and practicality of a catamaran with the reduced drag and efficiency of hydrofoils, the BM50 SE looks promising. Plus, with a quadruple rig of 400hp outboard engines and space for an impressive 3,400L of fuel, it's primed for some serious distance. Expect a cruising range of around 700 Nm at speeds between 25 and 35 knots, with a top speed of around 42 knots![1]
Quadruple outboards may seem excessive, but the BM50 SE accommodates them without compromising deck space for watersports enthusiasts. The 17ft beam provides ample room for fishing and watersports. In fact, the aft cockpit can extend aft, between the outboards, in a setup reminiscent of a passerelle/swim platform. And if that's not great enough, the BM50 SE has the size and stability to accommodate a tender at the back end of the flybridge, allowing enough space for water lovers to play.[1]
Space, Speed, and Style
Stepping inside the BM50 SE, you'll find a long galley alongside a dinette with a raised forward cabinet. This furniture configurations creates valuable space for the pair of bathrooms below, in addition to providing room for a pair of forward cabins, without reducing the bridge deck's elevation.[1]
The helm station sits centrally on the deck, providing ample visibility, while the single co-pilot seat can be supplemented by an additional helm seat on the flybridge, complete with an L-shaped dinette for added socializing. If you're a fan of open deck space, the flat foredeck appears well-suited for navigation, and there's additional seating space in the aft cockpit.[1]
