First fire erupts in forests of Krasnoyarsk region
In the heart of Siberia, a forest blaze took place in Krasnoyarsky Krai, marking the first such event of the year. The conflagration erupted due to dry foliage near the settlement of Red Hamlet, located in Shushensky District.
Initially, a team of 5 firefighters from the Shushenskaya Forest Fire Station rushed to extinguish the flames. In the end, the forest fire was completely eliminated within 1.5 hours, covering an area of 1.73 hectares.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire may have spread to the nearby woods, and authorities are currently investigating possible culprits.
