Fireworks and outdoor fires in Bad Kreuznach are forbidden currently.
In response to the heightened fire risks caused by the current drought, the city of Bad Kreuznach has implemented a temporary ban on open fires and fireworks from July 9, 2025. This ban, which applies to the entire city, is particularly strict in forest and field areas, green spaces, and the burning of plant waste.
The restrictions, which are in place until August 18, aim to minimise the risk of wildfires in the city's vulnerable areas. This includes a prohibition on grill fires, open fires, and fires in forests, public areas, agricultural and garden plots in the open area.
The ban also extends to the disposal of burning matches and smoking items such as cigarettes. Residents are advised to take extra care when using a gas grill, ensuring they have fire protection measures in place, such as a fire extinguisher or water for extinguishing.
Fireworks, sky lanterns, smoke powder, smoke bombs, or other pyrotechnic items are still not allowed to be fired or ignited during this period. The city reserves the right to extend the ban should the fire risk persist.
It is important for residents to stay informed about any changes in these restrictions by checking local news or official announcements. Despite the ban, residents can still enjoy barbecues on their private property, but are encouraged to take all necessary precautions to prevent a fire from spreading uncontrollably.
