🌐 Firefox for Android once again supports extensions 🌐
For many of us, extensions are a crucial part of our browsing experience. Whether you're a dedicated Firefox user on Mac or PC, you might worry about opening a URL without uBlock Origin or Dark Reader installed. But when it comes to mobile devices, Firefox has traditionally been a different story.
Mozilla had removed extension support on Android in 2020, much to the displeasure of users who demanded its reintroduction. Well, the wait is over for Android users – at least for now.
Extensions are back in Firefox for Android 🎉
Last week, Mozilla announced that Firefox for Android would not only support extensions but also over 450 add-ons, many of which have long been popular with Firefox desktop users. For instance, uBlock Origin and Dark Reader work immediately, allowing you to block ads and switch to dark mode while browsing on both your smartphone and desktop.
Mozilla also recommended three extensions to make getting started easier: Midnight Lizard, which adds a custom color scheme to your website; Dark Background and Bright Text, which lets you switch to dark backgrounds and bright text on all websites; and Global Radio, which allows you to listen to radio stations from around the world.
