Gromitz Fire Department Celebrates Milestones and Receives New Equipment
The Gromitz fire department recently gathered for a significant event, with over 80 members from its five departments coming together for a group photo on Saturday. The occasion was marked by the arrival of a new firefighting vehicle, escorted through the town in a long convoy, and the celebration of the 55th fire lion's third birthday.
Mayor Sebastian Rieke took the opportunity to congratulate the young fire lion and presented two miniature fire engines and a matching fire station for the playful training of the six to ten-year-old members. These miniature vehicles were also presented to the team of female supervisors of the youth fire brigade, who were recognized for their voluntary work and the strong development of the fire lions.
The leader of the local fire department, Jacob Revenstorf, expressed his gratitude towards the team, thanking them for their dedication and hard work. The group photo, which was part of a nationwide firefighting magazine feature, was taken on the meadow at the shore road after a joint breakfast.
