Fired Earth collapses into administration with 182 job losses across luxury tile sector

High-end tile and interior design retailer Fired Earth has ceased trading, closing all its stores and making 133 employees redundant. The company, along with four others, has collapsed into administration. The administrators have since sold the assets of these companies to Euxton Tiles Ltd. and Ralee Group Ltd.

The collapse of Fired Earth, part of the Earle Group and Full Circle Group, has resulted in the loss of 182 jobs in total. The company, known for its luxury tiles and design services, had been struggling financially. On October 24, all 59 staff members of the Earle Group and Full Circle Group were let go. A week later, Fired Earth's stores closed, leaving only the head office and warehouse in Banbury open to fulfill existing orders.

The administrators sold the assets of Ceramique Internationale Ltd, Rowmarl Ltd, Spectrum Tiles Ltd, and Euxton Tile Supplies Ltd to Euxton Tiles Ltd. and Ralee Group Ltd. on October 31. This sale comes after these four companies also went into administration, adding to the industry's woes.

The closure of Fired Earth and the administration of four other tile companies have led to significant job losses in the industry. The sale of these companies' assets to Euxton Tiles Ltd. and Ralee Group Ltd. may provide some relief, but the future remains uncertain for the affected employees and the broader tile industry.
