Capering Magicians: Ehrlich Brothers' Close Call with Fire during a Staged Spectacle
FireTRAP: Practice Sessions Disrupted by Flare-up, Threatening Ehrlich Brothers' Performance - Fire incident disrupts Ehrlich Brothers' show rehearsals.
In the whirlwind world of magic, the Ehrlich Brothers — Andreas and Chris— have carved out a niche for themselves, captivating audiences for over a decade with their marvelous illusions. From the hallowed halls of British royalty to world stages, these master illusionists have left an indelible mark on the magic circuit. On tour for their 10th anniversary, their latest tricks will dazzle and astound admirers everywhere.
Sizzling Mishap: Andreas Ehrlich's Alarming Encounter with Pyro-Nozzle
Unfortunately, the champion magicians' rehearsal for their show at Dortmunder Westfalenhalle wasn't all smoke and mirrors. A behind-the-scenes blunder threatened to upstage their grand performance. During a pyro stunt gone awry, Andreas inadvertently found himself too close to a pyro nozzle, and the inevitable happened: his flaming coiffure transformed into a safety hazard.
A brief video clip of the incident on their Instagram page immortalized the accident, showing a bewildered Andreas grappling with an ice pack while muttering, "Am I still on fire? My face is hot." His brother, Chris, chimed in playfully, "Whew, luck's still on our side! At least my brother's got a fresh new 'do now!"
In an interview with Bild newspaper, Andreas admitted the timing couldn't have been worse. "I made a misstep at the wrong moment. It easily could have been much worse," he stated solemnly.
This wasn't the first time the acclaimed duo had encountered mishaps whilst performing death-defying tricks. As Chris revealed in a 2023 interview, he's broken a rib on stage, had his hair ignite unexpectedly, and even crashes whilst circling above audiences. Despite these accidents, he assured the public that such incidents are uncommon and remind the brothers of the inherent risks and unpredictability of their craft.
The fiery incident occurred during rehearsals, but fear not, dear spectators; the final show at Dortmunder Westfalenhalle is set for Sunday afternoon and, hopefully, will unfold without any unexpected flares. The recorded spectacle will air on ZDF this fall, so here's to wishing the Ehrlich Brothers a resounding success—and, most crucially, a fire-free performance!
