Dinslaken: Firefighters Showcased Skills in Scorching Heat

On a sweltering June 14, Dinslaken's Bergpark became the battleground for 50 firefighting squads from across the Wesel district. The Dinslaken Fire Department led the charge, joined by the Dinslaken City Firefighters' Association and the Wesel District Firefighters' Association.

In this high-stakes showdown, these brave men and women proved their mettle, putting their skills to the test in various disciplines such as fire attack, relay race, knots, and stitches. They also had to ace a knowledge exam. Teamwork, speed, and technical prowess were the buzzwords of the day. Despite the tropical temperatures, these warriors charged ahead with unwavering determination. The event served not only as a test of their abilities but also as a chance to fortify team spirit and mutual trust.

Kids' Corner

The kid's area was a hit, with youngsters hopping around on a bouncy castle, pretending to be first responders. They even acted out fictitious emergency scenarios! Notable attendees included Ingo Brohl, Landrat of the Wesel district, and Achim Thomae, Dinslaken's first deputy mayor—representing Mayor Michaela Eisloeffel. Several members of the city and district councils were also present, underscoring the importance of the fire departments in their eyes.

This was the penultimate performance test organized by the Dinslaken Fire Department before handing the torch to another fire department in the Wesel district in 2027. To ensure a smooth-running event, refreshments were provided for the referees, and grill and drink stands were set up.
