Paul Oakenfold, a renowned figure in the world of electronic dance music, has had a remarkable career spanning over three decades. Born and raised in London, Oakenfold started his journey in an unexpected place - as a chef at London's Army and Navy Club, earning £24 a week.
However, his passion for music was too strong to ignore. Oakenfold soon found himself immersed in the vibrant London club scene, where he honed his skills as a DJ and record producer. This led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including U2, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones.
During the height of his career, Oakenfold provided over 100 remixes for artists such as Moby, Madonna, Britney Spears, Massive Attack, The Cure, New Order, The Rolling Stones, The Stone Roses, and Michael Jackson. One of his most notable collaborations was with Steve Osborne, resulting in producing Happy Mondays' critically acclaimed album Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches, which won the 1991 Brit Award for Best Producer.
