Promising developments are on the horizon for the tennis community as the ATP-500 event, traditionally held at the Stadthalle, is expanding to include a second venue for this year, from October 18th to 26th. The new temporary venue will be at the Marx Halle for the next four years, with plans for a more permanent move to the upcoming Wien Holding Arena in the Marx district by 2030.

Tournament Director, Herwig Straka, expressed his excitement at this development, stating, "We're moving forward with the development of the Erste Bank Open, taking a symbolic first step towards the Wien Holding Arena."

The Marx Halle offers numerous opportunities for both players and visitors, including a wheelchair tennis tournament and a youth tournament for the first time. Straka believes this expansion will elevate the tournament as a whole, taking it to a whole new level.

Three tennis courts will be set up at the Marx Halle, with two serving as match courts and one designated for training. During the tournament, tennis stars will have access to a total of seven courts, split across the Stadthalle, Tenniszentrum La Ville, and the new Marx Halle venue. This expansion follows an international trend in extending tournament areas.

With the new second venue, fans have an exciting opportunity to observe the stars close up during training, not just during the matches. All events in the Marx Halle can be attended for €25 with a "Groundticket," providing access for the entire day.

The two match courts at the Marx Halle will accommodate a total of 2,000 seats, making it an ideal location for top players seeking longer training spots. With the renowned Stadthalle and Tenniszentrum La Ville as additional training grounds, some of the sport's biggest names may choose to train at the Marx Halle, offering fans an unique, up-close experience.
