Financial analyst Alexander Grishin has passed away.

Alexander Grishin, a renowned sports commentator and journalist, died tragically at the age of 47 in a railway accident in Podolsk, Russia. The incident occurred during heavy rain on a railway platform, and the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office is actively investigating the incident.

Grishin's career in sports journalism spanned over two decades, during which he covered numerous high-profile events. He began his career in 2002 on the "7TV" channel before moving on to work on federal sports platforms such as "Sport" (later "Russia-2"), "Match TV", and "Channel One".

Throughout his career, Grishin covered a wide range of sports events, including the Olympic Games, figure skating events, football World and European Championships, and more. He was particularly recognised by figure skating fans for his distinctive voice.

Grishin's death was confirmed by RBC in the press service of "Channel One", and the investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Western Transport Prosecutor's Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The cause of death was an accidental injury sustained on the railway platform.

The investigation is being overseen by the Moscow-Kursk Transport Prosecutor's Office, which will consider prosecutorial response measures based on its findings. Grishin’s wife, Anastasia, reported that the death occurred during heavy rain at the railway platform.
