Finance Minister adopts a conciliatory approach in his actions
In the upcoming cinematic comedy "Nichtsnutze," actor Danyal Bayaz takes on an intriguing role, playing a police officer in the vibrant cities of Heidelberg and Mannheim. This film, co-produced and state-funded by SWR, promises to delve into the themes of hip-hop culture and the cities' urban atmospheres.
Bayaz, 41, has little acting experience but sought an authentic role with minimal dialogue. His character, set against the backdrop of the film's coming-of-age story, unlocks an interrogation room where the main character visits his brother in detention.
The production of "Nichtsnutze" is a collaborative effort, with Director Sedat Aslan closely involved. Aslan has chosen the locations and cast, including Bayaz, to bring his vision to life. This collaboration highlights Aslan's commitment to portraying contemporary urban culture in a genuine and impactful way.
The filming process is well underway, with over 100 extras, 20 actors, and a 30-member crew filming at 40 locations in Mannheim, Heidelberg, and the surrounding areas. On the seventh day of shooting, Bayaz's scene as the finance minister is scheduled. The scene featuring Bayaz as a police officer is shot in a transformed hotel basement.
Bayaz expresses relief after the scene, stating he is glad to leave directing to the professionals. Production manager Justin Roessler ensures a fair team dynamic despite long shooting days.
As for the film's release date, it is currently unannounced. However, it is expected to be in the fall of 2026. Keep an eye on official press releases or the director's statements for updates about Danyal Bayaz's role or the film’s status.
It's worth noting that politics and film have intertwined in Germany, with politicians such as Gerhard Schröder, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Manne Luche, Ulrich Goll, Markus Söder, and Armin Laschet making appearances in various films and television shows.
