Final Update for Month 3 - Summer Reading Challenge Progress

Pumpkin Spice Season is upon us, and the Carterhaugh Summer Reading Challenge wrap-up is here!

Here's Sara's wrap-up:

Last time around, I mentioned I needed to be strategic to complete the challenge. Mission accomplished—thanks to Nimona by ND Stevenson!

"Read a book by an author you've always meant to read," "Read a Graphic Novel," "Read the Book Behind a Movie You Love"—you can thank ND Stevenson for saving my bacon on this challenge. Their work was a pleasure, with Nimona—a graphic novel brimming with humor, power, and heart—making for a fantastic read. It's perfect, chaotic, and a quick book club read for September.

"Read a Banned or Challenged Book"—I figured Nimona would help me here, too, but couldn't find any records of it being banned or challenged. Instead, I re-read Casey McQuiston's Red, White, and Royal Blue. It's a hilarious, delightful story about the son of the first female president of the United States and England's prince falling in love.idosynthesisdetail

"Read a Poetry Collection"—Finally, I read Deborah Sage's Sherlock Holmes-themed poetry collection, Doggerel in the Night-Time. It's a delightful fusion of humor, love for Sherlock literature, and poetic skill. Shoutout to its playful and whimsical nature, which can be hard to find in published poetry.

Stay tuned for Brittany's wrap-up, but for now, let's crack open those books! If you're not already a member of our book club, what are you waiting for? Join now!
