Final performance for the summer outdoor cinema series at Oberburg
In the heart of Halle, the Giebichensteiner Summer Film Nights 2025 are drawing to a close, running until August 16, 2025. The film nights are held at the historical Oberburg Giebichenstein, Seebener Straße 1, where you can enjoy a unique cinematic experience amidst the ancient ruins.
Each evening, two films are offered, and the audience gets to vote online to determine which one is screened. The voting process and film schedule can be found on the City Museum's website.
On Thursday, August 14, the theme is "Voices from Finland", and the films up for selection are "News from Lapland" (Finland/Estonia 2024) and "Heavier Trip - Road to Wacken" (Finland 2024). On Friday, August 15, the theme is "Loyalty and Friendship", and the films available are "Sun and Concrete" (Germany 2023) and "Blutzbrüdaz" (Germany 2011).
Access to the Oberburg is available from 8 pm, and a brief tour introducing the history of the Saaleburg is given at 8:30 pm. The selected film starts at 9:30 pm. Admission to the ruins and the summer film costs 8.50 euros.
Please note that there will be no film choice on Saturday, August 16, as it is the best runner-up film night.
