It's all set for a thrilling spectacle at the French Open! The dream final is here, with the current tennis heavyweights Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz battling it out for the title on Sunday in Paris. This is as good as it gets in men's tennis right now!

World number one Sinner dominated Novak Djokovic in the semifinals with scores of 6:4, 7:5, 7:6 (7:3). Defending champion Alcaraz outplayed Lorenzo Musetti, with Musetti retiring due to injury at 4:6, 7:6 (7:3), 6:0, 2:0.

In the women's draw, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff from the USA will fight for the title on Saturday (15:00 CET/Eurosport). This is the first time since 1984 that both the men's and women's finals in Paris feature world number one against world number two. In the juniors, we're in for a German duel with Max Schoenhaus and Niels McDonald.

A nail-biting duel between Sinner and Djokovic

Sinner and Djokovic put on a terrific show in their gripping semifinal. Despite Djokovic's impressive victory against Alexander Zverev in the quarters, Sinner showed exceptional form against the veteran. Although Djokovic put up a fierce fight, Sinner had an answer for everything.

In an intense exchange, Djokovic had three set balls at 5:4 in the second set, but Sinner saved them all. The crowd erupted, and it went to a tiebreak. Sinner sealed the deal and advanced without dropping a set. "I had to play my best tennis to beat him. He's always an inspiration to us all," Sinner praised Djokovic.

Even in defeat, Djokovic was applauded by the crowd. "It could be my last match here at Roland Garros. The atmosphere was incredible, I wanted to thank you all," Djokovic expressed, paying tribute to the spectators.

Alcaraz channels his inner Nadal

Before the match, Alcaraz paid homage to his legendary compatriot, Rafael Nadal, by visiting Nadal's footprint on Court Philippe-Chatrier and taking a photo. Alcaraz wasn't playing quite like Nadal, who always showcased his best tennis at Stade Roland Garros.

Alcaraz had a tough time against Musetti, who continued his impressive performances from earlier in the tournament. Alcaraz struggled in the first set and had to come back from behind in the second set. Only in the tiebreak did Alcaraz manage to level the set, after which Musetti couldn't keep up.

In the third set, Alcaraz stepped up his game and didn't let Musetti regain the advantage. However, Musetti was already feeling the heat and needed medical attention. Although he fought on, Musetti couldn't continue at the start of the fourth set.

"It's never pleasant to win a match like this," Alcaraz admitted after the game. "Lorenzo has played such a great clay-court season. I hope he recovers quickly." Musetti was disappointed with the end of the match. "I knew I had to play the best tennis of my career against him, and I did for two sets. But then I felt a pull and I just couldn't go on," said Musetti.
