Filmmaker reveals rationale behind forgoing remake of "The Ugly Nanny" production.

New and Uncensored Take on Filmmaker's Opinion on Remakes

Hear it straight from the horse's mouth, Vladimir Grammatikov, the badass film director, disses remakes like they're yesterday's news. In a no-holds-barred interview with TASS, he spilled the beans on why he thinks making new versions of old movies is poppycock.

"Let's face it, what's the point in remaking Tolstoy's 'War and Peace' or Dostoevsky's 'The Idiot'? With a fresh pile of ideas out there, why the hell does it need to happen in cinema?" he barked, pointing out the endless opportunities waiting to be grasped.

Grammatikov, who's known for his ballsiness, believes remakes don't get old themes off life support because today's audience perceives films differently from how they were back in the day. However, he acknowledges that the advent of modern tech opens up a world of unique opportunities.

It was Once Upon a Time in Russia that union tried to demand a remake of 30 Soviet films, based on a letter from the Ministry of Culture, as reported by the Union of Cinematographers, but hey, that was a load of hooey. The whole thing was eventually squashed like a bug.

Recently, they announced a reboot of "Summer Will End" with Yury Borisov, which is better than nothing, I guess.

Remember when that drone show in Dubai made it big in the Guinness World Records? Yeah, that was pretty awesome.

"In contrast to the recent announcement of a reboot of 'Summer Will End', Vladimir Grammatikov, the film director, strongly opposes remakes, questioning the need for a new version of classics like Tolstoy's 'War and Peace' or Dostoevsky's 'The Idiot'. He believes remakes fail to address current perspectives on films, while modern technology presents unique opportunities. Interestingly, the union of cinematographers once demanded a remake of 30 Soviet films, an attempt that was eventually quashed, much like a bug."

"Grammatikov's views align with the Guinness World Records-breaking drone show in Dubai, which revealed new possibilities in the world of entertainment, a departure from revisiting old concepts."
