Filming is currently underway in London for Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, the sixth novel in the beloved Narnia series written by C.S. Lewis.

The film, which is scheduled for a short theatrical run in IMAX in November next year, is expected to be released on Netflix around Christmas. The Magician's Nephew is a prequel to the series' most beloved book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and tells the story of the creation of the magical mythical land Narnia.

The main confirmed leads for the adaptation are Emma Mackey as Jadis, the White Witch, Daniel Craig as Uncle Andrew, David McKenna as Digory Kirke, and Beatrice Campbell as Polly Plummer. Carey Mulligan is also attached to the project, although her role has not been officially confirmed.

Intriguingly, Meryl Streep is rumored to voice the famous lion character, Aslan, in the film, but this has not been officially confirmed by Netflix or the production team yet.

Scenes are being shot on public roads in the City of London near Cornhill and the Royal Exchange, with a significant aspect of the set being a giant billboard for a new housing development, featuring a golden-maned Lion.

The story follows two children, Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, who travel to the magical land through a series of magical mishaps caused by Digory's uncle Andrew.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting adaptation of a classic children's series.
