In 2017, Stephen King, the undisputed master of horror, had a monumental year with multiple adaptations of his work gracing both the big screen and the small screen, and streaming services. One of these adaptations was the highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 megahit, "It: Chapter Two".

The series "Castle Rock", based on King's work, was also ordered at Hulu around the same time, providing a perfect platform for the return of the Losers Gang. The series, airing on Hulu, provides a chilling prelude to the events of "It: Chapter Two".

The film opens with a satisfyingly horrific scene that sets the tone for the rest of the movie, living up to the high standards set by the original. Director Andrés Muschietti expertly balances the dire stakes with the comradery of the reuniting Losers, including Bill, Bev, Richie, Eddie, and Ben, portrayed by an impressive cast.

Isaiah Mustafa, known for his role in television commercials, takes on the role of Mike Hanlon, the only one who remembers the killing spree of Pennywise. He is the one who calls the Losers back to their home town, Derry, to confront their fears and uncover the truth about their past.

The central thesis of "It" is that returning to their home is critical for the characters to understand their flaws, fears, and the pitfalls of their current life. The long middle portion of the film features a deluge of the Losers being confronted by Pennywise in the form of their worst fears.

Bill Skarsgård returns as the terrifying Pennywise, leaving audiences cringing in their seats. The film's climax, while intense, lacks some of the cleverness and wit found in the original.

Despite this, "It: Chapter Two" was a massive success, grossing over $700 million worldwide. The film's $123 million opening weekend was a testament to the enduring popularity of King's work and the horror genre.

Meanwhile, "The Mist", another Stephen King adaptation, was airing on Spike TV, adding to the horror-filled year. It seems that King's work continues to captivate audiences, proving that he remains the undisputed king of horror.

As we eagerly await more adaptations of King's work, we can rest assured that Hulu's "Castle Rock" will provide a chilling bridge between the past and the future of King's horrifying universe.
