Film festival industry lineup expands with additions of A24's Rose Garnett and Ken Loach from A24.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is set to host an engaging and diverse industry programme from August 14 to 20, 2022. This year's programme, a major evolution, will extend across all seven days and feature participation from prominent U.K. industry executives and filmmakers.

The programme aims to engage industry leaders in discussions and activities reflecting on the film business and creative landscape in the U.K. and beyond. Notable figures such as Rose Garnett, former director of development at Film4, and acclaimed director Ken Loach, known for his socially conscious films, will be part of the lineup.

Other industry executives and filmmakers set to participate include Jeremy Thomas, Mark Cousins, Andrea Arnold, David Hinojosa, Ben Wheatley, and producer Andy Starke. Nia DaCosta, director of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and Candyman, will take part in an 'in conversation' event, while Eva Yates, director of BBC Film, and Farhana Bhula, interim Film4 director, will also speak across the programme.

Animation Scotland and Animated Women UK will take part in a panel on animation opportunities in Scotland. Eva Victor, director and star of EIFF opening night film Sorry, Baby, will also participate in an 'in conversation' event with the film's producer Adele Romanski.

The industry programme will take place at Tollcross Central Hall, and the EIFF has worked closely with Unified and other supportive organizations to access their formidable networks. The festival is passionately committed to connecting Scottish and U.K. talent with the international film community.

The EIFF's CEO and festival director, Paul Ridd, expressed his excitement, stating that the industry programme will present a week of diverse and exciting events. He further emphasised that the programme will speak to a wide range of themes, ideas, and learning opportunities for industry delegates.

Kevin Macdonald will give the keynote with his brother, 28 franchise producer and EIFF chair Andrew Macdonald. The EIFF is building something truly special, as stated by Paul Ridd, and this year's industry programme is a testament to that ambition.

Movies-and-TV industry professionals from the UK and beyond will come together for entertaining discussions and activities during the Edinburgh International Film Festival's (EIFF) industry programme. Notable participants include Rose Garnett, Ken Loach, Jeremy Thomas, Mark Cousins, Andrea Arnold, David Hinojosa, Ben Wheatley, Andy Starke, Nia DaCosta, Eva Yates, Farhana Bhula, Animation Scotland, Animated Women UK, and Kevin Macdonald.
