Film and Dining Experience | The Polar Cook
Join food stylist Nami Iijima for an exciting combined screening and tasting event, as part of the "Movie & Bites" series. The event will feature the 2009 comedy film "The Chef of South Polar (Nankyoku Ryorinin)".
Directed by Shuichi Okita and starring Masato Sakai, the film follows an eight-man Japanese research expedition to Dome Fuji Station in Antarctica. The focus is on the chef who struggles to provide diverse and appetizing meals with limited ingredients. Nami Iijima, who prepared many of the mouth-watering dishes in the film, will join the event for a behind-the-scenes discussion.
Following the screening, participants will be treated to a tasting of dishes included in the movie, prepared by Nami Iijima herself. Please note that the event is not suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and dishes using shellfish may also be served.
Nami Iijima, born in Tokyo, has made a name for herself in the industry, working on television commercials, advertisements, movies, and television series.
