"Fighting Game Adaptation for 'Invincible'"
Get Ready for Some Hard-Hitting Action with Invincible VS
With the roaring success of Prime Video's adaption of Invincible, the hype surrounding this epic series has reached new heights. Comic co-creator Robert Kirkman hasn't stopped talking about potential expansions, especially in the realm of video games. After a successful mobile game and a visual novel for Atom Eve, it's time for the franchise to venture into the depths of console combat.
Recently, during the Xbox Games Showcase, Skybound Games and developer Quarter Up announced Invincible VS, the franchise's first full video game for consoles and PC. As expected, it's a fight to the finish, where players assemble three-person teams and engage in intense battles against other players online. The roster includes fan-favorites like Mark, Nolan, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Bulletproof, and some Villains such as Thula and Lucan[3]. Notably, several TV actors are rumored to be reprising their roles, adding an authentic touch to the game.
According to a press release from Skybound, VS will feature a captivating single-player story along with competitive and casual multiplayer and Training and Arcade modes[4]. If you're a fan of bloodshed and some bone-crunching action, Invincible VS is right up your alley. Characters will mercilessly pummel each other into a pulp, with the tag-team mechanics reminiscent of Marvel vs. Capcom or recently released Marvel Tōkon. However, the game seems to take inspirations from NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat series, as each fighter has some brutal finishers they can inflict on their opponents. So, brace yourself for some epic, adrenaline-pumping fights where one wrong move could lead to a gruesome end[2].
Mark's headbutt may be terrifying, but can it top Omni-Man's train murder that made waves in Mortal Kombat 1?
Invincible VS promises to bring the heat to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. Keep an eye on this space as more information about the exact release date is expected soon[1][2][5].
