Fifth-Round FA Cup Accumulator, Overviews & Betting Strategies

Let's Get the Lowdown on This Week's FA Cup Matches March 1, 2025 The FA Cup games are back and after causing one of the most jaw-dropping upsets in recent memory, Plymouth Argyle will be gunning for a repeat as they march into Man City's domain.

Who will make it to the quarters? Let's take a gander at our FA Cup acca.

Saturday, March 1st

Bournemouth vs Wolves

Details: Saturday, March 1st, 3.00 pm, Vitality Stadium

After experiencing a humbling home league defeat to Wolves last weekend, Bournem rough 'em up real good in the redo. Centre back Illia Zabarnyi will be walking a tightrope after earning a straight red card for dangerous play in the last encounter, but the Cherries have been on fire this season, so they should feel confident taking on Wolves again.

For Wolves, the last meeting was a massive win that helped them put some daylight between themselves and the drop zone. Matheus Cunha, their standout player, was the difference in that game and it might be tough for bigger clubs to pry him away from the Molineux come summer. Wolves' main goal for the season is staying in the Premier League, but a trip to Wembley wouldn't hurt.

I've got a funny feeling that Bournemouth will set things right and come out on top in this rematch.

Bournemouth to win @ 7/10

Manchester Utd vs Fulham

Details: Sunday, March 2nd, 4.30 pm, Old Trafford

Is it ever calm in Red Devils land? Wednesday saw another nerve-wracking night for interim manager Ruben Amorim after UTD took a 2-0 lead, lost a man, fell behind, and then held on for dear life in a 3-2 win. If nothing else, they showed grit to get the W in the end. Amorim admitted that they've been playing better in a system he isn't too keen on, and that's not ideal.

Fulham turned in a dud on their home turf last week, looking ragged against Palace and lacking: ingenuity, flair, and meter操作. Marco Silva knows he needs to shake things up, and what better time to do it than in a prime-time showdown at Old Trafford? Fulham are safe in the league, so they should be targeting cup success. They've got the players to cause problems for UTD, and they'll be hungering to prove the doubters wrong.

I'm backing Fulham to get one over the ex- champs.

Fulham to win @ 9/5

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich

Details: Monday, March 3rd, 7.30 pm, City Ground

The fifth round games wind down with a showdown at the City Ground on Monday night. Theatre of Dreams? More like Theatre of Terror for Ipswich. Forest are no fluke, mate — they've shown they've got the goods, and they already proved it in midweek after holding title contenders Arsenal to a scoreless draw. Though Champions League football is in their sights, a cup win would be the cherry on top of an already fantastic season for Forest.

It was a nasty setback for Ipswich after falling to three set-piece goals while playing against ten men for over an hour at Old Trafford. They've shown flashes of competitiveness this season, but unless they find solutions soon, they're going to struggle to stay clear of the drop. The cup might not be the priority for them right now, but hey, one can always dream.

Forest will be too hot to handle for Ipswich at home, and I reckon they'll cruise to a win.

Forest to win @ 3/4

In the FA Cup match on Saturday, March 1st at the Vitality Stadium, Illia Zabarnyi's suspension could be a setback for Bournemouth as they aim to avenge their humbling home league defeat to Wolves. Despite this, the Cherries are on a roll this season and could clinch victory against Wolves.

For Fulham, they'll be eager to prove the doubters wrong in their Sunday, March 2nd game against Manchester Utd at Old Trafford. Despite UTD's gritty 3-2 win in their previous encounter, Fulham's team, led by Marco Silva, has the potential to cause problems and secure a win over the former champions.

In the third FA Cup match on Monday, March 3rd at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest will be aiming to consolidate their impressive season by defeating Ipswich. With Forest having demonstrated their competitiveness by holding Arsenal to a scoreless draw, they seem primed to claim a win at home against Ipswich.
