Fifth Annual Guitar Extravaganza
Summer's Here, Let's Rock: Dresden Guitar Fest Returns
Gear up for another round of guitar tunes and groovy vibes at the Old Factory!
Fabian and Juliano, the brains behind the Dresden Guitar Festival, are bringing back their love for guitar music for the fifth consecutive year. This time around, they're packed and ready with fresh tunes, this year also taking the stage themselves.
Juliano, the charm bombshell, just dropped his first solo album "Floating Heads" a couple of days ago, and he'll share it with seven of his badass ensemble members at a release concert on-site. In his words, it's no ordinary solo album, with almost 30 musicians working their magic in the studio. The album merges concert music, Brazilian popular music, and improvisational freedom, creating a rhythm that makes your thoughts float away.
Speaking of floating rhythms, this could also be Juliano's unique concert experience - a multi-layered affair that goes beyond festival planning, artistic milestones, and human creativity. His love for his pregnant girlfriend (who'll be gracing the stage as a violinist) will be front and center in the song "Maline."
Global Guitar Union
Over to Fabian, who spent last year touring across Argentina and jamming with his mentor Nora Buschmann and newfound friend Hugo Muñoz. Hugo's music talked straight to his heart, and now, they're frequent collaborators, mixing Latin American folklore rhythms with modern influences. Hugo's international tour enables him to grace the Dresden Guitar Festival with his presence, and he'll lead the Latin American guitar workshop this year for anyone eager to learn.
But it's not all Latin American all the time. The program includes Emma Campàs, the powerful female voice of Flamenco, who delivers an impressive blend of classical guitar basics and traditional Flamenco. Then, there's the Iranian-German duo Neshan, pairing cello and setar to create an entirely different soundscape.
