Fifteen days remaining until the Blitz: Belleville relying on leadership as they approach the season, carrying a sense of determination with them

The Belleville High School football team is ready to make a comeback in the 2025 season, with the seniors taking the lead. After concluding the 2024 season in the state semi-finals, the team is determined to return and potentially advance further.

Coach Mike Nolden, the team's leader, expects his team to show more potential in the upcoming weeks of practice. His main focus for the next couple of weeks is for the team to improve daily. The seniors, who view the 2025 season as their last opportunity to reach Camp Randall Stadium, are leading by example.

The team's leadership is player-led, as Coach Nolden has pointed out. The four senior captains, who were part of the team's run in the 2024 season, are taking an active role in leading the team and encouraging other players to do the same. The seniors are setting the tone with their strong commitment and motivation to return the team to the state semi-finals.

The team's preparations for the season have been rigorous, with traditional practices like the annual "Midnight Madness" practice taking place in August 2025. This practice, now in its third consecutive year, is aimed at building team cohesion and readiness early.

Belleville Football actively promotes senior recognition events such as Seniors-Signing Day, which highlights the prominence and contributions of senior players in the program. This cultural emphasis on senior leadership suggests that these upperclassmen are integral to guiding the team’s mindset and performance in this 2025 campaign.

The Wildcats have adopted the motto "Built for November," reflecting their ultimate goal of playing football in November. The team's first game of the 2025 season is against Lancaster on August 22.

Coach Nolden has noticed a more vocal leadership style from the team this offseason. He emphasized the importance of being consistently locked in, mentally focused, and being a good teammate. The team's disappointment from last year has given them a sense of determination, and they are ready to make their mark in the 2025 season.
