FIFA Heroes debuts as a free-to-play arcade football game with superpowers
FIFA has announced its first new video game in four years. Titled FIFA Heroes, the free-to-play title will launch on April 28 for mobile and PC. This marks the organisation's return to gaming after its split from EA Sports.
FIFA's partnership with EA Sports began in 1993, leading to over 40 FIFA games before the series ended with FIFA 23. After the split, EA continued releasing football titles under the EA Sports FC name.
*FIFA Heroes* introduces a fresh take on football gaming. The five-v-five arcade-style game features exaggerated, fast-paced action with superpowers. Players can teleport through balls or perform magnetic tackles, adding a fantastical twist to matches. The roster will mix real professional footballers with mythological figures like Thor and Sun Wukong. World Cup 2026 mascots will also appear in the game. While details on specific playable characters remain limited, the blend of real and legendary figures sets it apart from traditional football simulations. After the initial mobile and PC release, *FIFA Heroes* will expand to Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The exact date for console versions has not yet been confirmed.
