Formula 1's regulatory body, FIA, hastily puts an end to rumors of misconduct against Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff

The world of Formula 1 was stirred by whispers of illicit activity, but the FIA swiftly dashed those suspicions this evening. In a statement, they declared, "We can confirm that there are no ongoing ethical or disciplinary investigations concerning any individual."

Last Tuesday, media reports alleged that confidential information had been unlawfully leaked to a Formula 1 team boss by an employee of the rights holder. The sensation arose from a report claiming a conflict of interest involving Toto Wolff and his wife, Susie, with other Formula 1 officials reportedly lodging complaints with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Susie, employed by Formula 1 marketer FOM as Managing Director of the Formula 1 Academy, was accused of leaking confidential knowledge to her husband, who subsequently shared these insights with team bosses, potentially reaching the rights holder.

Mercedes promptly denied these charges, branding them baseless, and accused the FIA of failing to inform them of the investigation ahead of time. Susie Wolff responded on social media, alleging that the accusations were attempts at intimidation and misogyny, and that the Formula 1 management expressed full confidence in the allegations' falsehood.

The other nine teams in the premier class followed suit by issuing near-identical statements, affirming that they had raised no complaints regarding a potential conflict of interest. The FIA reiterated their assurance that they had put measures in place to prevent conflicts and uphold the integrity of motorsport worldwide, as well as their confidence in the robustness of FOM's compliance system to prevent unauthorized information leaks.
