Festivities kick off at Kelheim Fisherfest.
The Kelheimer Fischerfest commenced its 57th edition on Wednesday evening, with the traditional procession and opening celebration taking place. The festivities, set to continue until June 1st, will be held at the Volksfestplatz in Kelheim.
Despite ominous clouds, the evening remained dry during the procession, followed by a brief rain shower once the crowd had assembled within the festival tent. In a unique twist, Mayor Christian Schweiger delegated the beer keg tapping honor to the festival queen, Natalie Mann, who executed the task with enthusiasm and precision.
The music of the Quertreiber band ensured a lively atmosphere at the pre-holiday party, filling the tent with energy.
Thursday's program will kick off with a wrestling contest between ATSV Kelheim and SC Isaria Unterföhring, followed by a Bavarian afternoon featuring the band D'Spreißler. Hoarschoarf will take the stage for Father's Day festivities, while children can look forward to a special afternoon with balloon modeling, tattoos, discounted rides, and special attractions on Friday.
The weekend will bring performances from local acts such as Zumba Kids junior of LTT Kelheim, Altmühl Blech, Moosbühl, Die Dietfurter, and Ver(d)ruckts Blech. Breakfast and musical accompaniment will be available on Sunday morning, signaling the final day of the festivities.
