Festive Celebration of Classic Music Revives Again

The **11th edition of Verão Clássico Festival & Academy** is set to enchant the city of Lisbon from **July 23 to August 2, 2025**. Hosted at the prestigious **Centro Cultural de Belém** and the **Museu Nacional dos Coches**, this year's festival promises a cultural extravaganza, featuring ten concerts showcasing iconic classical works spanning the 18th to the 21st centuries.

The festival's lineup includes some of the world's most distinguished artists, such as cellists Gary Hoffman and Christian Poltéra, tenor Werner Güra, soprano Anna Samuil, pianist Milana Chernyavska, clarinetist Annelien Van Wauwe, violists Gérard Caussé and Lars Anders Tomter, violinists Lena Neudauer, Eszter Haffner, Stephan Picard, double bassist Janne Saksala, and artistic director and pianist Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro.

In addition to these masters, a significant number of talented young musicians from over twenty countries, many of them competition award winners, will also participate in both concerts and masterclasses. Around one hundred Portuguese students are also expected to join the masterclasses.

The festival programme, available at www.veraoclassico.com, includes masterclasses focused on musical technique, open to public attendance. These sessions offer an opportunity to witness and learn from internationally renowned musicians and pedagogues.

The festival will also host six "Talent Fest" concerts from July 24th to August 1st, providing a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents.

Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro, the Festival's artistic director and a pianist, conceived the project for the festival to be part of the CCB. He expressed his long-held desire to return to the CCB for the festival, citing the favourable conditions for its success and sustained continuity after the COVID-19 pandemic.

A monographic concert dedicated to Robert Schumann will be held at the Picadeiro de Belém/Museu dos Coches on July 30th, adding another layer of cultural richness to the festival.

For those interested in the exact daily schedules of concerts and masterclasses, it would be recommended to check the official Verão Clássico website or the Centro Cultural de Belém's schedule closer to the event dates for the most detailed and updated program information.
