Now, you might be wondering how they'll pull this off, given the tragic loss of their frontman, Chester Bennington, back in 2017. But fear not, because the band has officially announced their return in early September 2024, following a live-stream concert in Burbank, California.
Alongside original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, you might just spot a new leading lady among the ranks. Emily Armstrong, co-founder of the band Dead Sara, will join as the new co-lead vocalist. And join they will, for both festivals!
According to Matt Schwarz, boss of Rock am Ring, "We share extraordinary festival moments with this band that go under the skin. Having Linkin Park play with us in 2026 means a lot to us, and we're happy to present our fans with such a remarkable headliner for next year."
Before we get too ahead of ourselves, let's not forget that 2025 is not just any ordinary year—it's a double anniversary! Rock am Ring will celebrate its 40th birthday, and its sister festival, Rock im Park, will turn 30.
Can't wait until 2026? Lucky for you, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park still have plenty to offer in 2025! Some of the acts planned include Rise Against, Bullet For My Valentine, Weezer, The Prodigy, and Powerwolf. See you there!
