Festival Jagran presents "Quality Cinema for All" with the 13th installment of Jagran Film Festival
Jagran Film Festival 2025 Untitled Film Contest: A Platform for Emerging Talent
The Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is set to return in 2025 with an exciting new initiative - the JFF Untitled Film Contest. This event offers aspiring directors, writers, actors, editors, and cinematographers the opportunity to create an original short film, supported by funding, mentorship, and a platform to showcase their work.
The festival, which celebrates its 13th edition, will commence on September 4, 2025, in Delhi. It will then travel to 14 cities across 8 states, culminating in Mumbai with a prestigious awards ceremony.
Eligibility and Submission Requirements
To participate, applicants must submit an application video of about 2 minutes. Upon registering by WhatsApp, participants receive a submission link. Team collaborations among emerging filmmakers are encouraged.
The detailed deadline for submitting the finished short film is not explicitly stated but registration and workshops occur early September, so submissions are expected shortly thereafter.
Mentorship and Support
The contest aims to nurture talent by offering mentorship from industry experts such as Subhash Ghai, Khusboo Sundar, A. Sreekar Prasad, and Adil Hussain. Teams selected receive funding (JFF Grant) and guidance from these celebrated figures.
Short films produced under this program will premiere at the Jagran Film Festival 2025, part of India’s largest traveling film festival.
Timeline and Deadlines
The official contest launch is on September 4, 2025, at 3:30 PM. A filmmaking workshop with an industry expert and final registration will follow on September 5, 2025.
