Nuremberg (dpa) - It was a whopper of a surprise when the Sportfreunde Stiller took the stage to kick off the final day of Rock im Park! Fans had already kicked off the party early morning, basking in the sunshine after a couple of rain-soaked festival days. The day promised a thrilling lineup, with The Prodigy, Bring Me the Horizon, and K.I.Z, among others. Rain and gusty winds, though, were on the horizon.

Announcing the 30th anniversary of Rock im Park with a bang, organizers made a couple more surprises in store! The delighted crowd was refreshed by the unexpected appearance of Sportfreunde Stiller, even if they were a bit worn out after two long festival days. Many fans couldn't help but sing, clap, and dance along, with Peter Brugger inviting singer Soffie and the British indie-rock group The Subways on stage as a delightful bonus.

With close to 90,000 music enthusiasts rocking out on four stages and approximately 100 concerts, Rock im Park stands larger than ever! The sister festival, Rock am Ring in the Eifel, is celebrating its 40th anniversary concurrently, featuring a somewhat similar lineup but with some differences in scheduling.

While search results don't highlight any specific anniversary concerts at Rock im Park, they do indicate some exciting performances that were part of the event. For instance,
