Beyoncé:'s Cowboy Carter Tour Knocks 'Em Dead with More Than a Glint of Sparkle!
Spurs jangled, hats tilted, and boots shimmied their way into SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour opener - and fans like Dillian Frelow, aka Dillian the Celebrity, are here for the wild showdown!
"Let me tell you, friends, this tour is like waking up on a goldmine Christmas morning," he enthused. "From top to bottom - every single piece that I'm rocking? It's custom-crafted - hat, suit, boots, grill, belt buckle, you name it."
Blinging out his footwear with more than 11,000 crystals, Dillian's diamond-embedded grill, bedazzled belt buckle, 10-gallon hat, and rhinestone-laced Western jumpsuit - all haute couture - have set the stage for an unforgettable fashion rodeo during this power-packed three-hour show.
"And let's not forget the hats!" Dillian exclaimed. "I mean, everyone's wearing hats, why not make mine stand out? After all, when you're going to a Beyoncé show, it's like stepping onto the Met Gala red carpet."
Like Dillian, many concertgoers came prepared to raise the style stakes.
USA Today Network's Beyoncé reporter, Caché McClay, noticed a sea of Western wear at the opening night event.
"Lots of cowboy hats, cowboy boots, double denim," she said. "The trend of cowboy chic hitting mainstream culture has been a fascinating journey, especially with the release of Cowboy Carter."
McClay has been closely following the surge in Western fashion, with sales figures showing an impressive rise across the industry. Tecovas, an American boot and Western-style apparel brand, recently saw growth of 24%, surpassing $250 million in revenue, as reported in Business of Fashion. And Boot Barn, an American Western wear retailer, noticed an uptick in purchases of basic black and brown styles, indicating a rise in first-time buyers embracing Western wear.
Small, bespoke brands have also reported booming business. Mercedes Matz, founder of luxury cowboy hat brand Maya James, shared that her custom-made cowhide hats, priced at $285, have been selling like hotcakes since the tour announcement.
"Let's just say the demand for my hats has been challenging, but oh-so-welcome," Matz said, beaming. "I've had quite the deluge of customers clamoring for the hats."
And it's not only the Bey-faithful who've caught the cowboy core bug. Songs like "Levii's Jeans," with its nod to the renowned denim brand, have even influenced purchases, with Levi's logging an additional $1.2 million in sales thanks to the track's release [2].
Big-name brands like Louis Vuitton are even hopping on the cowboy-infused bandwagon, offering cowboy hats inspired by Bey's bold Westward style [2].
Beyoncé fan, Bri Giger, is delighted to witness the growing passion for Western wear - and particularly for celebrating Black cultural roots in the genre.
"And it's not just Western," she enthused. "It's Black Western, honoring our ancestors and the history of it all while embracing its place in American culture."
The Cowboy Carter tour continues across major cities in the U.S. and Europe through July - so grab your hat, boots, and sparkle and saddletech up for the ultimate fashion rodeo!
