Utah's head coach, Jimmy Coenraets, questioned the decision to continue the game after such a grave incident. "I'm not sure we should have continued the game... it was a really tough moment," he admitted, adding that many people were "scared."
King, 20, was the second overall pick in the 2024 NWSL draft by expansion Bay FC and featured in 18 games for the club before being traded to Angel City in February. This season, she has started all eight games for the team.
