THC Harvestehuder Female Field Hockey Team Does It! First Title in 52 Years
Overjoyed cheers rang out as the THC Harvestehuder women's field hockey team clinched their first German championship win since 1973! Championing against the defending champs Düsseldorfer HC in Krefeld, they secured a thrilling 2-1 victory in front of 3,400 spectators. Emilia Landshut and Laura Saenger bagged the winning goals in the 22nd and 35th minutes, respectively.
"The Süddeutsche Zeitung" reported that Rosa Krüger, the indefatigable goalkeeper of the team, bid adieu to competitive sports by not only retiring after the match, but also being crowned MVP of the tournament. With this performance, she sealed a stunning farewell: “It couldn't have been a better ending. We played our hearts out on the field.”
Time to Shine at the Euro Hockey League
Alongside the trophy, the Hamburg team also punched their ticket for the Euro Hockey League (EHL) qualification. The team's coach, Tobias Jordan, elatedly described the victory: "It's a dream and will be a fantastic trip!"
Breaking Barriers: Seray Ünsal
With a clutch of 200 roses from her family's flower shop and unambiguous messages like "I want to be the boss to make women the bosses," Seray Ünsal has been a force to reckon with. Starting her career in news and radio, she has made a name for herself by championing for women's rights, particularly raising awareness about feminicide. Her endless source of energy comes from a yearly Gossip Girl marathon and Gerbera daisies, her favorite flowers.
