FC Union Berlin's women's squad is bringing in a fresh force for the upcoming season in Germany's highest league. Say hello to the newest addition, Nadine Böhi, joining us from the land of chocolate and cuckoo clocks – Switzerland!
This 21-year-old sensation moved over from FC St. Gallen in June 2025, reportedly being a highly-regarded goalkeeper with plenty of potential. Our women's professional football manager, Jennifer Zietz, describes Böhi as "a talented and reflective goalie who's taken on significant responsibilities at a young age."
Böhi has been honing her skills ever since she joined FC Niederwill in her youth days. She then moved up to FC St. Gallen at the tender age of 12 in 2016. That's when she started climbing the ranks, eventually breaking into the Swiss Women's Super League just before her 17th birthday. By 2022, she had become St. Gallen's primary goalie, with a staggering 56 top-flight appearances under her belt and an impressive 22 clean sheets to show for it!
With Böhi, Union Berlin is gaining a seasoned player who had some outstanding achievements during her time with FC St. Gallen. Her highlights reel includes:
- Clenching a spot in the Swiss Cup final in 2023, only to fall short to Servette FC by a single goal (1-0).
- Helping St. Gallen boast the second-best defense in the league in her last season with only 12 goals conceded.
- Staking the record for the most clean sheets in a single season, keeping an astonishing 11 games without letting a goal slip by.
While Böhi has been on the Swiss national team squad for nearly a year, she's yet to make her international debut. But with her exceptional talent and skillset, who knows what the future holds for this young, dynamic goalkeeper?
