"My soul has been here before" - Felicitas Woll returns in The Dark Legacy—a crime drama inspired by the Nebra Sky Disk
Felicitas Woll is making her TV comeback with The Dark Legacy, a crime drama airing on March 14, 2023. The film centres on the Nebra Sky Disk, one of Europe's most important archaeological finds. Woll, known for her curiosity about history and the unexplained, takes on a role blending real events with fiction.
The Nebra Sky Disk first made headlines in 2002. After police recovered it in Basel that February, it went on display in Halle's State Museum for Prehistory. Within two weeks, nearly 11,000 visitors came to see it.
*The Dark Legacy* weaves this discovery into a story of crime, drama, and tragedy. While inspired by true events, the film takes creative liberties. Woll, who once considered nursing before acting, has long been drawn to archaeology—especially Egyptian history. She also believes in forces beyond logic, seeing destiny as a mix of fate and personal choice. Off-screen, Woll's two daughters have different attitudes toward acting. The older one shows no interest, while the younger has potential but remains undecided. Though open to working with them someday, Woll isn't planning it yet.
The film will premiere at 8:15 PM on ARD, Germany's First Channel. It marks Woll's return to television with a story rooted in real history but shaped by imagination. Viewers can expect a mix of mystery, emotion, and the enduring allure of ancient discoveries.
