"Feijóo insists on PP ruling in partnership with the Spanish people: "Our historical obligation, we must not falter"
Spain's People's Party Outlines Election Strategy
Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of Spain's People's Party (PP), has unveiled a strategic plan for the upcoming elections, focusing on forming a single-party government and promoting national unity.
Feijóo has guaranteed that, if elected, the PP will take reforms to Congress and then to the Council of Ministers. The strategic plan includes governing alone with a single-party majority government, excluding minority or separatist parties from government coalitions, and respecting Vox as the third-largest political force, though preferring to govern without formal coalitions.
The PP's policy of national unity is also reflected in a ten-point program covering democratic renewal, tax reform, an immediate housing strategy, and the defense of national unity. Feijóo has condemned the current government under Pedro Sánchez as having caused "institutional chaos."
"There are only two options: Sánchez or me," Feijóo declared, promising a cohesive, principled PP government committed to Spain’s constitutional framework and territorial integrity.
Feijóo emphasized that the next legislature will not be a usual legislature, as the PP will have to heal Spanish democracy. The PP will present a list of Sanchista laws to repeal or replace in September.
The PP's priority for the first hundred days of their future government includes democratic and institutional regeneration, housing, tax cuts, dignified salaries for the middle class, more doctors and better healthcare, a national water plan, the fight against illegal immigration, security against occupation and multi-recurrence, a defense policy, teaching in Spanish throughout the country, and coexistence with native languages.
Meanwhile, outside the political arena, Spain's athletes have been making headlines. Paula Martín won the European championship, while Balma Dávalos and Andrea Revuelta won silver and bronze respectively. Iván Romeo stated that to win in the Tour, one must take risks, and Tomé expressed that in the elite, merit is not always fulfilled, but Spain deserves to win.
In a heartwarming gesture, Feijóo sent a specific message of encouragement to Borja Sémper, the vice-secretary of culture and spokesperson of the party, who is currently battling cancer. Feijóo's message underscored the PP's commitment to supporting its members in times of need.
The Spanish People's Party (PP), as revealed in their strategic plan, aims to establish a single-party government, focusing on negotiations in Congress and Council of Ministers. This plan, in part, involves governing alone, excluding minority or separatist parties, while respecting the third-largest political force, Vox. Meanwhile, in the realm of sports, Spain's athletes continue to make a splash, with Paula Martín winning the European championship and Balma Dávalos and Andrea Revueta securing silver and bronze, respectively.
