Federal law enforcement officers carried out an arrest warrant, detaining a 24-year-old individual for a duration of 31 days, as specified by the order.
In a recent development, a 24-year-old Syrian man, who had been on the run after failing to pay a fine imposed by the Regional Court of Bamberg in January 2023 for misuse of identification documents, was arrested by the Federal Police in Halle (Saale) on July 22, 2025.
The incident in question occurred at Halle (Saale) Central Station at 14:10, where a theft took place at a drugstore. A deployed patrol encountered the suspected thief and witnesses at the scene. The officers served the enforcement warrant on the suspect, took him into custody, and could not pay the outstanding amount of 310 euros.
The suspect, who had been living in Halle before his arrest, was previously convicted by the Regional Court of Bamberg in January 2023 for misuse of identification documents and was fined 400 euros or alternatively, an initial imprisonment of 40 days. However, he did not pay the imposed fine in full, and the public prosecutor's office issued the warrant in February 2025.
