Federal Law Enforcement Carries Out Arrest Warrant; 28-Year-Old Pays Bail to Evade 70-Day Imprisonment, Pocketing 1750 Euros Instead
On September 1, 2025, at 09:00, the Federal Police in Halle (Saale) arrested a 28-year-old man. The arrest was based on an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dessau-Roßlau.
The man was previously convicted for fraudulently obtaining benefits in eight cases. In August 2021, the Local Court of Bitterfeld-Wolfen sentenced him to a fine of 1750 euros or a substitute detention of 70 days. However, he had neither paid the demanded fine nor served the substitute detention, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant in April 2022.
The Federal Police officers executed the arrest warrant and informed the issuing authority about the execution. The arrest allowed the man to avoid a 70-day imprisonment, as he paid the outstanding amount on the spot.
