Federal Employment Agency cuts in-person hours but boosts digital services

The Career Information Centers (BiZ) in Solingen and Wuppertal are also affected by the reduced opening hours and will only be available to visitors until 1:00 PM.

However, phone availability remains unaffected by these changes: customers can still contact the Federal Employment Agency as usual between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The toll-free service numbers are:

  • For employees: 0800 - 4 5555 00
  • For employers: 0800 - 4 5555 20

Additionally, the agency emphasizes that its digital services remain accessible around the clock, regardless of opening hours. Through the so-called eServices, customers can, among other things, register as job seekers or unemployed online and conveniently submit applications for unemployment benefits from home.

The authority recommends making greater use of digital services—especially on days with reduced opening hours—to avoid waiting times.
