A Houston woman, identified as Jennifer Jesselle Perez-Rodriguez, has been arrested and accused of assaulting federal law enforcement officers. The incident occurred on April 17.
Perez-Rodriguez, 28, is charged with assaulting a federal officer after allegedly threatening FBI agents with a machete. According to a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Texas, the woman attacked the agents while they were driving on Anderson Road in unmarked vehicles.
Witnesses reported that Perez-Rodriguez had been brutally assaulted by several individuals before retrieving her machete to find her attackers. At this point, she allegedly confronted the federal agents. The confrontation escalated, leading one agent to open fire and shoot Perez-Rodriguez. The agent was unharmed in the incident.
