Hey there! Let's chat about the crazy incident that went down in Colorado.

So, looks like there was an attack on a busy street in the city of Boulder that left several folks injured. A suspect, aged 45, was apprehended by the police according to the police chief, Steve Redfearn. This incident took place in the afternoon (local time) and witnesses claimed the man used a self-made flamethrower and threw an incendiary device into the crowd, shouting "Free Palestine".

The FBI is investigating this incident as a "targeted act of violence." However, some political leaders like US intelligence coordinator Tulsi Gabbard and FBI chief Kash Patel have referred to it as a "targeted terrorist attack." Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also termed it as a terrorist attack on social media. "Terror has no place in our land," Rubio wrote, expressing his sympathies for the victims.

However, the local police chief, Steve Redfearn, cautioned against speculating the motive yet. "It was a delightful Sunday afternoon on Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, and this act was uncalled for," he stated, urging everyone to think about the victims and their families affected by this tragedy.

Initial reports suggest that a pro-Israel group was present at the scene, peacefully demonstrating. The police are attempting to ascertain if this group or others were targeted during the attack. According to CBS News, citing eyewitnesses at the scene, the suspect had attacked people participating in a march to remember the Israeli hostages who have been held in the Gaza Strip for over a year.

Sadly, some of the victims, who ranged in age from 67 to 88, were taken to the hospital with burns and injuries. The suspect is currently receiving medical attention as well.

The Jewish organization Anti-Defamation League also reportedly stated that they received reports of an attack on the "Boulder Run for Their Lives" event, a weekly meeting of members from the Jewish community. Their aim was to raise awareness for the Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

Colorado's governor, Jared Polis, expressed his sympathy for those affected by this "hateful terrorist act."

It's essential to keep an eye on updates as the FBI continues its investigation, working alongside the Boulder Police Department to collect evidence and interview witnesses. Let's hope the victims make a speedy recovery!
