Federal Alert Day Scheduled for September 11, 2025
On Friday, September 11, 2025, the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) will conduct a nationwide civil protection drill. This joint effort of the federal government, states, and cities aims to test technical processes and raise awareness among citizens.
The civil defense drill in Hochsauerlandkreis is set to begin at 11:00 AM. At this time, sirens in the control center of the Hochsauerlandkreis will be activated for a specific tone sequence. The tone sequence during the drill will consist of one minute of all-clear, followed by one minute of warning, and another minute of all-clear, with a five-minute pause between the sequences.
During the drill, the population will be sensitized to the test alarm via warning apps like NINA and cell broadcast by mobile network providers. Further information on the settings and compatible devices for cell broadcast can be found at www.bbk.bund.de/cellbroadcast.
After the drill, citizens are invited to participate in an online survey at www.warntag-umfrage.de to share their experiences and feedback. The all-clear will be given around 11:40 AM.
Carolin Fisch from Hochsauerlandkreis confirmed this information. The goal of the drill is to check technical processes and raise awareness among citizens. It serves as a valuable opportunity to ensure that the warning systems are functioning effectively and that the public is well-informed and prepared.
