"Discovering my voice was a challenging journey. My administrative presence in the contemporary music world felt unwelcome with my raw and commanding timbre. At 19, I grappled with my identity while obsessing over indie music and reinvented sounds from the Tumblr era. This led to a spiritual awakening that was a rude shock to my system. I was torn apart, molded, and returned to my roots. But like a fish out of water, I was uncertain about my homecoming. History had robbed me of my history, leaving me to piece together my past by delving into my genealogical memories.
A Moment of Truth
I was about 20 when I found myself pinned to the ground by two huge dogs, ripped to shreds as they snarled. In the midst of my agony, I unleashed a primal scream, a call that resonated with something powerful. I understood then that my voice was a vessel for many, carrying the echoes of souls who walk with me, feeling the weight of their collective experiences on every cell of my being. My injury was excruciating, and my walk home only amplified the pain of self-accusation and regret. Yet, in the midst of it all, the essence of Desire was born."
