The "Interstellar Scout Ship Raptor" role-playing game offers an exciting and unpredictable space adventure for two or more players. This game, created by John Harper and available at johnharper.itch.io, invites players to join the crew of the Raptor and explore the unknown reaches of space, encountering aliens, defending Consortium worlds, and dealing with various threats.

Each player creates a character by choosing a style, role, number, and name. Each character is equipped with a consortium uniform, a space phone camera communicator-scanner thing with a universal translator, and a variable beam phase pistol set to stun.

The Game Master is responsible for asking questions and building on the answers, while also rolling or choosing from tables to determine a threat's intentions, associated items, and actions. The threats can range from Zorgon the Conqueror, the Hive Armada, rogue captains, space pirates, cyber zombies, or alien brain worms.

The crew's mission is clear: explore, deal with aliens, and defend Consortium worlds. However, the characters' goals can be chosen or created, such as becoming captain, meeting new aliens, or solving weird space mysteries.

As the players progress through the game, they will encounter various threats. When they decide to take risks, they roll a six-sided die and compare the results to their character's number. If they roll their number exactly, they get a special insight into what's going on.

The story is part of the FT Weekend Magazine's puzzle special issue. The Raptor, the crew's interstellar scout ship, can have two strengths chosen by the group, along with one problem. The threats' intentions can be to destroy/corrupt, steal/capture, bond with, protect/empower, build/synthesise, pacify/occupy, and the threats are often associated with space pirate kings/queens, void crystals, star dreadnoughts, quantum tunnels, ancient space ruins, or alien artefacts.

Players will need a six-sided die, a pen or pencil, and something to write notes on to play the game. So, gather your friends, roll the dice, and prepare for a thrilling interstellar adventure with the Interstellar Scout Ship Raptor role-playing game!
