FDP's European election campaign headed by Strack-Zimmermann
The European elections are fast approaching, and several German politicians have thrown their hats into the ring. Among them are Svenja Ilona Hahn, Andreas Glück, Moritz Körner, and Jan-Christoph Oetjen, all current Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).
The list for the European elections places two to five among these four MEPs. Svenja Ilona Hahn, Andreas Glück, Moritz Körner, and Jan-Christoph Oetjen are all vying for re-election, hoping to continue their work in the European Parliament.
Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, another MEP and a member of the German Bundestag, has been elected as the lead candidate for the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in the upcoming European elections. The FDP's European party conference supported Strack-Zimmermann with an impressive 90 percent of the delegates, a clear show of confidence in her leadership.
Strack-Zimmermann, who is also the defense policy spokeswoman for her faction in the German Bundestag, was elected as the lead candidate on January 28. Her strong stance on defense policy and her commitment to the FDP's values have made her a formidable contender in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, the FDP has chosen Strack-Zimmermann as its lead candidate for the European elections. Moritz Körner, another MEP, has been named as the party's second candidate, while the positions of the other candidates are yet to be announced.
In a significant development, Jan-Christoph Oetjen, who is currently the Vice-President of the European Parliament, is also on the list for the European elections. Oetjen, who has been Vice-President of the EU Parliament since 2024, is seeking re-election to continue his work in the European Parliament.
However, it's worth noting that the specific date for the European elections has not been announced yet. As the race heats up, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the winners and takes on the important tasks of shaping the future of Europe.
