Transforming Abuja into a World-Class City: Minister Wike's Vision Under President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda

In a significant development, Minister Nyesom Wike has revealed plans to transform Abuja, the Nigerian capital, into a world-class city, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The minister made this announcement during the official flag-off of the construction of the Northern Parkway from Ring Road II to Ring Road III in Abuja. He emphasised the importance of good road infrastructure and proper lighting in bringing out the development of a city and enhancing its beauty at night.

Wike stated that under the Renewed Hope agenda, Abuja should resemble other cities of the world in terms of road infrastructure. He also mentioned that changes are being made to ensure Abuja competes with other cities globally.

The minister further highlighted that proper lighting and good road infrastructure are essential for Abuja to be compared to other world-class cities. He expressed his aim to start and participate in the inauguration of the Northern Parkway project, which is expected to be completed within a 30-month timeline.

However, Wike noted that the 30-month timeline is approximately two years, and he would have left office before the project's completion. He hinted that his tenure as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) may end in two years.

President Bola Tinubu, under whose Renewed Hope Agenda Minister Wike is attempting to transform Abuja, is the current Nigerian president. The transformation of Abuja into a world-class city is a significant part of the president's vision for the country's development.

With the flag-off of the Northern Parkway project, the transformation of Abuja into a world-class city seems to be a step closer to reality. The project, once completed, is expected to significantly improve the city's road infrastructure and contribute to its overall development.
