FCC Leader Issues Threat Towards ABC Due to Jimmy Kimmel's Statements Regarding Charlie Kirk's Alleged Murderer

In a recent turn of events, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has threatened to take action against ABC following a comment made by Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night show. On Monday night, Kimmel suggested that the assassin of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed last week, was one of "the MAGA gang."

Carr, who has appeared on Fox News to discuss issues between the administration and ABC, has suggested that Disney, ABC's parent company, should address Kimmel's comment about the shooting. He has also hinted at potential consequences for the network if they fail to do so, including the possibility of suspending the airing of Kimmel's show until the issue is straightened out.

Conservative media has picked up on Kimmel's comment and has been quick to lambast it. Greg Gutfeld, a host on Fox News' "The Five," labelled Kimmel as suffering from "delusions." Meanwhile, Greg Gutfeld predicted that Kimmel could be "done" if he doesn't address his remark.

The target person of Carr's measures has not been specifically named publicly. However, conservative media has pointed to official statements that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, holds "leftist ideology." Three days later, authorities announced they had arrested the suspected shooter.

In July, Carr was asked about issues between President Trump and ABC's "The View." Carr also suggested that the FCC could use its power to go after news "hoaxes" like mainstream media coverage of Hunter Biden's laptop, Joe Biden's mental acuity, and the Jussie Smollett case. He has also suggested that the FCC could pursue news distortion allegations against local licensees.

Kimmel, on the other hand, has called for an end to "angry finger-pointing" in the wake of Kirk's death last week. He has not yet addressed Carr's threat or the criticism from conservative media.

As the situation continues to unfold, both ABC and Jimmy Kimmel will likely face pressure to respond to Carr's threat and the criticisms from conservative media. The FCC's potential involvement in this matter could have significant implications for the future of late-night television and the role of news media in America.
